What's Included

Basic vs Premium tune-up

Most riders benefit from a tune-up once or twice a year depending on mileage. We offer two levels so you can match the service to how you actually use your scooter.

  • Basic: brake adjustment, cable tension, tire pressure and wear check
  • Basic: bolt torque check across stem, fold pin, handlebars, and deck
  • Basic: battery charge state check and firmware version check
  • Basic: visual inspection of frame, deck, wheels, and wiring
  • Premium: all basic items plus hydraulic brake bleed or cable replacement
  • Premium: motor diagnostic code pull and throttle calibration
  • Premium: full wheel and bearing inspection, headset service
  • Premium: written 22-point inspection report with photos of any issues found
  • Mobility scooter tune: specific inspection of motor-brake, free-wheel lever, and tiller

Why scooters need more frequent service

A daily commuter scooter puts on 2,000 to 4,000 miles in the time a casual rider puts on 500. Pads wear, bolts loosen, tires age, and firmware gets behind. A tune-up every 500 to 1,000 miles keeps you safe and extends the expensive components.

Mobility scooters need a different cadence: annual service catches the problems (corroded terminals, worn caster bearings, failing free-wheel lever) before they leave you stranded. We do it right for both.

Common Questions

Tune-Ups questions, answered.

How often should I tune up my electric scooter?

For a scooter you ride regularly, every 500 to 1,000 miles or twice a year is reasonable. For a commuter putting on serious miles, premium service every six months is a good cadence.

What's in the basic vs premium tune-up?

Basic covers adjustments that drift with use: brakes, tire pressure, bolts, battery charge. Premium adds the deeper work: motor diagnostic pull, bearing inspection, hydraulic brake bleed, and a written report with photos.

Do you tune up mobility scooters?

Yes. Annual service is especially valuable for mobility scooters. We check battery terminals, free-wheel lever, motor-brake engagement, tire condition, and tiller wiring. Most issues are caught early and cheaply.

Can I do a tune-up at home?

For basic items (tire pressure, cable tension), yes. Full tune-ups go faster and cleaner in our shop where we have proper stands, torque tools, and diagnostic equipment.

What if you find something beyond a tune-up?

We document it, quote it separately, and let you decide. A tune-up is a tune-up. Major repairs like a battery replacement or controller swap get their own quote.
