What's Included

What's included in scooter suspension service

Performance scooters with real suspension (Apollo Phantom, Dualtron, Kaabo) ride harder than you think, and their shocks wear out on the same schedule as a mountain bike fork.

  • Front fork service: bushing swap, oil refresh, seal kit
  • Rear shock service: oil refresh, seal replacement, IFP rebuild
  • Swing arm bearing and bushing replacement
  • Spring and spring pre-load adjustment
  • Damper adjustment and valve stack service (high-end shocks)
  • Scooter-specific rubber cartridge replacement
  • Post-service setup tuning for your weight and riding style

When does scooter suspension need service?

If your suspension feels sticky, bouncy, or like it just bottoms out and stops working, the oil is likely broken down and the seals are worn. This is normal after 500 to 1,500 miles of regular use.

A proper service restores the fork or shock to like-new feel for about a third the cost of replacement. We don't just swap oil, we tune the pre-load and rebound for how you actually ride.

Common Questions

Suspension Service questions, answered.

What scooters have suspension worth servicing?

Apollo (City Pro, Phantom, Ghost, Pro), Dualtron (all models), Kaabo (Mantis, Wolf series), Varla, and some Niu models with rear shock. Most Xiaomi and Gotrax scooters use rubber cartridges that get swapped rather than serviced.

My Apollo shock feels bouncy. Is that normal?

Bouncy shocks often have degraded oil or failed valves. We can rebuild or replace depending on the model. Apollo Phantom V2 and V3 shocks are serviceable; some entry-level Apollos use sealed non-serviceable shocks that get replaced.

Can you tune the suspension for my weight?

Yes. We adjust spring pre-load and rebound/compression where adjustable, or swap springs if needed. A 240-lb rider on a stock-tuned scooter needs a different setup than a 150-lb rider.

Do mobility scooters have suspension?

Some larger mid-range and full-size mobility scooters have rear coil-over-shock suspension. We service those too, most commonly replacing compressed springs or worn rubber bushings.

How long does suspension service take?

Most fork and shock services turn around in two to four business days depending on parts availability and scooter model.
