The Jonathan Dickinson Riders

If you ride the trails at JD State Park or the Atlantic Ridge Preserve, you know the toll those sandy, root-strewn paths take on drivetrains, brake pads, and tires.

We service the riders who actually use their bikes hard. Mountain bikes, fat tires, commuters, and beach cruisers all welcome.

What We Service

From flats to full rebuilds. We handle it all.

Wheels, brakes, gears, and everything in between. If it's on your bike, we can service it.

Brands We Service

All major brands. One standard of work.

Road, mountain, hybrid, cruiser, kids' bikes, and cargo bikes. The fundamentals are the same on every bicycle: measure, adjust to spec, torque correctly, test ride.

Bicycles We Service

Trek Specialized Giant / Liv Cannondale Santa Cruz Scott Kona Marin Salsa Schwinn Electra Bianchi Fuji Diamondback GT Big-Box & Kids' Bikes

If your brand isn't listed, call us anyway. Brakes, wheels, drivetrains, and bearings work the same way on every quality bicycle, and they are the exact systems our technicians service every day.

Why Scootermotion

Built for the rider who values their time.

Hobe Sound riders cover real ground. Jonathan Dickinson trails, the long stretch of US-1 to Stuart, neighborhood loops in Mariner Sands. That use shows up in the bike, and shows up in how we service it.

Common Questions

Common questions from our Hobe Sound customers.

Do you service the gated communities like Mariner Sands and Lost Lake?

Yes. We have established pickup arrangements with most of the major Hobe Sound gated communities including Mariner Sands, Lost Lake, Heritage Ridge, and Hobe Sound Yacht Club. We provide our vehicle and tech information at the gate, or coordinate with your community manager in advance.

My bike sees the Jonathan Dickinson trails. What wears out fastest?

JD State Park's sand, root-strewn singletrack, and elevation changes are hard on drivetrains and brake systems. We see Hobe Sound trail riders cycling through chains roughly every 1,000 to 1,500 miles, brake pads every 500 to 800. Sand also accelerates seal wear on suspension forks. Plan service intervals around how much trail time you actually log.

Can you handle salt corrosion from riding near Hobe Sound Beach?

Yes. Coastal riding accelerates corrosion on chains, cassettes, brake hardware, and exposed bolts. We do dedicated corrosion service: ultrasonic cleaning, anti-seize re-application on threaded fittings, and replacement of any hardware showing pitting. A coastal bike benefits from this service every 6 to 9 months.

How fast is your turnaround for a Hobe Sound pickup?

Hobe Sound is in our home pickup zone, so we can usually schedule pickup within 24 to 48 hours of your initial call. Most repairs are completed and delivered back within five business days, often faster for simpler jobs.

Do you service mountain bikes specifically?

Yes. Hardtails and full-suspension bikes from Specialized, Trek, Santa Cruz, Yeti, Pivot, and most other brands the Hobe Sound JD trail crowd actually rides. Suspension service, drivetrain rebuilds, and wheel work all in-shop.

Can I drop my bike off instead of scheduling pickup?

Yes. We accept drop-off at our shop by appointment for Hobe Sound residents who'd rather not wait for a pickup window. Call ahead so we have a workspace ready.

Can you work on older and vintage bikes?

Yes. Steel frames, friction shifters, freewheels, and older component groups are all welcome. We stock the odd-size tubes, cables, and bearings older bikes need, and we'll tell you honestly when a part is worth hunting down versus upgrading.
